Historical maps online

The National Library of Scotland has made yet more of its map collection freely available online: all 2143 sheets of the Ordnance Survey's six-inch to the mile maps from the 1840s to the 1880s have now been added to its website. The collection represents the earliest and most detailed maps for the whole of Scotland, as almost all man-made and natural features are recorded in this uniquely important topographic and cartographic record.
