Cities and media

‘Cities and Media: Cultural Perspectives on Urban Identities in a Mediatized World’ was a conference held in Vadstena, Sweden, in 2006. The majority of the 28 papers have been made freely available online in full text form, and cover a range of topics including the implications of mobile and wireless technologies; the future of urban public libraries; the Modernist heritage of Tel Aviv; the rise of the literary walking tour in European cities; and using the example of Manchester, the role of popular music in cultural regeneration.
