World class places

The UK government has launched its first placemaking strategy since the publication of Lord Rogers' 'Towards an urban renaissance' a decade ago. The new strategy, 'World class places', includes a commitment to apply a minimum design standard to every public building programme, and will give new guidance on the design of high streets and other non-residential roads, and promote and fund more user engagement in the design of new public buildings. The publication is only available online, where it can be freely downloaded.
